This webinar offers an in-depth look at our comprehensive boundary data products, including neighborhoods, residential, and school attendance areas, and the value of presenting this content at hyperlocal levels.

Click here to listen to this webinar presented by ATTOM Data Solutions SVP of Data Products, Pete Yunker, as he covers various business cases on why certain boundary zones are important to users and how they can drive traffic and increase revenue. Pete also discusses various ways in which boundary products are used to provide robust search capabilities and the advantages of our boundary data for businesses.

During this webinar, Pete discusses ATTOM’s recent acquisition of one of the nation’s leading geospatial boundary providers, Home Junction. This acquisition was beneficial in several ways, including:

  • Extends our data footprint
  • Enhances the value proposition to our customers
  • Higher Quality Boundary Content (Currentness, Accuracy, etc.)
  • In-House GIS Team
  • Extends SaaS and AVM Capabilities

Pete also provides an in-depth examination of ATTOM’s boundary product family, featuring a vast array of categories, including Property, School, Neighborhood, Postal, Flood, and Canadian Boundaries. Pete notes a few key points supporting the case for neighborhoods include trends from zip code-based search to neighborhood-based search, and applications providing hyperlocal search and information. Pete also points out that for real estate search, neighborhoods are ideal as they are hyperlocal and have names and boundaries that are familiar to local residents.

Also during this webinar, Pete cites a few specific examples of neighborhood use cases, including:

  • Real-Time Geospatial Filtering
  • Area Search Autocomplete
  • Map Boundary Overlay with Demographics
  • Market Report
  • Comparative Analysis
  • Landing Pages with Blog Content

Another area Pete explores is the importance of school districts and school attendance areas, along with specific use cases and advantages, including:

  • Coverage – 95% coverage, the most coverage of any product on the market
  • Currentness – Most up-to-date of any product on the market
  • Accuracy of Methodology – Digitized and published at individual grade levels to provide better accuracy than competitors’ more generalized products

Pete notes that each record includes numerous attributes including the school and district name, grade level, indicators for all grades for which the boundary applies, open enrollment and extradistrict indicators, identifiers for the ‘best’ attendance area for a multi-boundary school using multiple methods, the area of the boundary and its centroid geocode, and unique, persistent school and district IDs, etc.

Pete also notes that a range of factors weigh in on the significance of school attendance areas, such as even with the same school district, different schools can have significantly varying educational ratings, program focus, etc. The assigned school district and set of assigned schools for a home can significantly impact property values. Therefore, school attendance areas are extremely useful for hyperlocal property search.
