Real Estate & Housing Market Analysis Reports

ATTOM warehouses the nation’s largest multi-sourced real estate property database featuring details on more than 155 million U.S. properties across 3,000 counties. ATTOM offers pre-configured housing market reports designed to save you time and effort by providing ready-made analyses of key market trends and indicators. These reports are an excellent starting point for gaining a quick overview of the real estate landscape in your desired area. However, we also recognize that every business is unique, and one-size-fits-all solutions may not always suffice.

That’s why we offer the flexibility of customized real estate market analysis. With ATTOM, you have the freedom to define your deliverables according to your company’s objectives. You can mix and match data elements, choose the specific counties or regions you’re interested in, and tailor the analysis to fit your particular business needs.

Foreclosure Report

ATTOM’s U.S. Foreclosure Market Report provides data for properties with foreclosure filings, covering all stages of the foreclosure process (i.e., NOD, LIS, NTS, NFS and REOs). Gain valuable insights into the state of the housing market, analyze foreclosure rates and patterns, and assess market conditions for investment opportunities.

Vacant Properties Report

ATTOM’s quarterly Vacant Property and Zombie Foreclosure Report analyzes county tax assessor data for over 100 million residential properties to determine vacancy status, broken down by foreclosure and owner-occupancy positions. Vacancy data allows for market analysis and assessment, investment decisions, housing policy development and market forecasting.

Home Sales Report

The ATTOM U.S. Home Sales Report data is derived from recorded sales deeds, foreclosure filings and loan data, with data being broken out for cash sales, REO sales, home seller gains, institutional investor purchases and more. Home sales data is valuable for market analysis, pricing and valuation, understanding buyer and seller behavior, investment analysis, and market forecasting.

Home Flipping Report

ATTOM’s U.S. Home Flipping Report analyzes sales deed data for single-family and condo arms-length transactions that occurred in the quarter, where a previous arms-length transaction for the same property had occurred within the last 12 months. Home flipping data is valuable for real estate market analysis, investment analysis, market timing decisions, neighborhood analysis, rehab and renovation market evaluation, as well as an economic indicator.

Home Equity Report

ATTOM’s U.S. Home Equity and Underwater Report analyzes properties based on their equity category (loan to value, or LTV) and identifies the percentage those properties represent, among properties with mortgages. This analysis includes properties with significant negative equity (seriously underwater) to those with substantial positive equity (equity-rich), across the country. Home equity and underwater data provides critical insights for homeowners, mortgage lenders, real estate professionals, market analysts, and policymakers.

Housing Affordability Index

The ATTOM U.S. Home Affordability Index analyzes median home prices derived from publicly recorded sales deed data collected by ATTOM and average wage data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics at the county level, across the U.S. The Housing Affordability Index is valuable for assessing affordability, informing homebuyers, guiding policy development, supporting economic planning and development, aiding market analysis and investment decisions, and enabling comparative analysis.

National Opportunity Zones

ATTOM’s Opportunity Zones analysis evaluates median home prices in census tracts designated as Opportunity Zones by the Internal Revenue Service, with statistics for previous quarters revised when each new report is issued. Being aware of opportunity zones is valuable for identifying investment opportunities, understanding tax benefits and incentives, conducting market analysis and research, driving economic development and community impact, supporting social impact investing, as well as evaluating and improving policy implementation.

ATTOM’s Single-Family Rental Market Report analyzes single-family rental returns across the entire U.S. where sufficient rental and home price data is available. Understanding the housing market is important for pricing and rental value determination, investment analysis, understanding market trends and demand, and better assessing affordability.

Property Tax Report

ATTOM’s Property Tax Report analyzes data collected from county tax assessor offices nationwide at the state, metropolitan, and county levels along with estimated market values of single-family homes calculated using an automated valuation model (AVM). Property tax data is valuable for property valuation, tax planning and compliance, investment analysis, market analysis, government revenue collection and budgeting.
