Barber joins exclusive group of industry luminaries and innovators who have made newsworthy contributions to the real estate industry.

IRVINE, Calif. – January 14, 2019 — ATTOM Data Solutions, curator of the nation’s premier property database, today announced its CEO Rob Barber has been selected as a 2019 RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker — a dynamic group of key influencers making headlines as a result of their newsworthy contributions to the real estate industry, and their efforts to positively affect the consumers and communities they serve.

RISMedia, the leader in U.S. real estate news and information services, announced the 2019 Class of Real Estate Newsmakers on December 3, 2018 in both an online directory on and in its December issue of its flagship publication, Real Estate magazine.

“In RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers, you’ll find an inspirational overview of more than 230 industry leaders who are making a difference in the real estate and homeownership sectors, and whose actions have a far-reaching and profound impact on the real estate industry, from nationwide to their own local communities,” said John Featherston, CEO and Publisher of RISMedia. “You’ll meet the thought leaders and the icons. The heroes and the champions of a better way. The ones who are breaking the mold and the ones who are leading the industry forward.”

The incoming-class of RISMedia’s Real Estate Newsmakers were nominated by RISMedia readers and editors and are showcased in the following categories: Influencers, Trailblazers, Futurists, Achievers, Crusaders, Inspirations, Luminaries and Trendsetters.

Barber, named a 2019 Futurist, directs the ongoing curation of the nation’s premier real estate database and product innovation that leverages ATTOM’s data, data sales, data licensing and customer service.

Under Barber’s leadership ATTOM Data is bringing more comprehensive real estate data to the marketplace and delivering it in a more cost-effective way to make it available to a wider range of companies. ATTOM is frequently used by various companies who are fueling real estate portals, software applications and products, including leading real estate franchises, lenders and other mortgage service providers, predictive analytics for lead generation, real estate investors and developers, single-family rental marketplaces and insurance claims service providers.

In the past year, ATTOM acquired Onboard Informatics, a leading provider of neighborhood data and data-enabled turnkey products to the real estate industry, and integrated Onboard’s best-in-class neighborhood data into the ATTOM Data Warehouse. ATTOM also launched ATTOM List, a new marketing list creation tool, and introduced a new lender-grade but cost-effective automated valuation model (AVM) to the industry, as well as a new streamlined API that allowed it to consolidate its premium property neighborhood and boundary data into one self-service platform.

Barber has spent more than 20 years in the real estate information services industry. Prior to joining ATTOM, he was CEO of Environmental Data Resources (EDR) from 2005 to 2015 when he led EDR’s rapid and successful growth from a niche data company into the leading data, workflow application, vendor management and market intelligence company serving the U.S. commercial real estate due diligence industry. Barber held multiple positions at EDR prior to becoming CEO, including President, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Sales. Barber is also a past board member at BuildFax, Landmark Information Group and the Content Division of the Software and Information Industry Association. A graduate of Fairfield University, Barber lives in Claremont, California.
